Sculptra Poly-L-Lactic AcidRejuvenate your face with Sculptra™

Your face ... is the first thing that people notice about you. But when your appearance no longer reflects how you feel on the inside, it may be time for a change.

Sculptra Before and After Pictures - Smoothing wrinkles and restoring volume in the lower half of the face.In time, your skin loses its full, firm, youthful appearance. This is the result of a natural ageing process. In time, your skin is damaged, becomes thinner or loses its natural elasticity. As a result, it becomes loose and starts to wrinkle. Fat tissue which also helps to fill out your face, is lost. This reduction in skin volume can make your face look thin and narrow so that you may possibly look older than you are. Fortunately, Sculptra™ can help to smooth out lines and wrinkles, and restore the lost volume in a natural way.

Improve your appearance with Sculptra™

With poly-L-lactic acid Sculptra™, you can restore facial contour and get rid of disturbing lines and wrinkles without surgery.
Poly-L-lactic acid, the main ingredient of Sculptra™, has been used successfully in surgical procedures for more than 25 years, among others for bioresorbable sutures, in bone plates and screws, and as a medium for medication. Sculptra™ has been specially developed to repair contour defects in the face. About 150,000 patients have been treated since 1999 world-wide. Sculptra™ is long-lasting and biocompatible and biodegradable.

Unlike surgical options, Sculptra™ can provide gradual, natural-looking results through less traumatic treatment. The most common side effects with the use of Sculptra™ include injection-related side effects at the site of injection such as bleeding, tenderness or pain, redness, bruising, or swelling. These effects generally last, on average, 2-6 days. A clinical study has shown that the aesthetic improvements obtained with Sculptra™ have persisted for up to 2 years in many patients!

How Sculptra™ works

Sculptra™ works in the lower layers of the skin in order to smooth and firm the treated areas of the face. Sculptra™ is a unique substance which is gradually and naturally broken down by the body. Sculptra™ is immunologically inert, so that no allergy tests are necessary before beginning with treatment.
The number of necessary injections depends on many different factors. After the first treatment, your practitioner will recommend whether you need any subsequent treatments and how many these should be.
Generally, several treatments can be necessary to obtain the required results. However, in contrast to some other treatments which require frequent refresher sessions, after the end of your Sculptra™ programme the results will last up to 2 years.*

* The results can differ depending on age, wrinkling and the type of procedure used.

For whom is Sculptra™ suitable?

Sculptra™ is intended for patients who want to restore the contours of their face or compensate for gradual signs of ageing, for example loose, wrinkled skin, lines and folds.
